Benson is an American sitcom television series that originally aired on ABC. The series was a spin-off of Soap in which the character Benson first appeared as the wise-cracking yet level-headed African-American butler for the highly dysfunctional Tate family. However, Benson avoided the soap opera format of its parent series for a more conventional sitcom structure, and the lead character eventually moved from his service position to a role as lieutenant governor.

Mr. Belvedere is an American sitcom that originally aired on ABC. The series is based on the Lynn Aloysius Belvedere character created by Gwen Davenport for her 1947 novel Belvedere, which was later adapted into the 1948 film Sitting Pretty. The sitcom stars Christopher Hewett as the title character, who takes a job as a butler with an American family headed by George Owens, played by Bob Uecker.
